QRinio

Step by step

Add a QR code to Word and Office documents

Create and download the QR image first, then insert it as an image in your document. A screenshot of the preview is harder to control than an export. Use PNG for broad compatibility or SVG where the application supports it. The exact insert controls vary by application and version.

Place a code beside registration instructions in a Word handout, then check the PDF that will actually be distributed.

Insert the exported graphic without altering it

Insert the downloaded PNG or SVG as a picture if your Office version supports that format. Lock the aspect ratio and set the intended print width. Do not crop the code or its clear margin; a screenshot of the generator is no substitute for the export.

Create the final print file and check it again. Automatic image compression, changed page margins or “fit to page” can alter size and sharpness. The print from that file matters, not only the document preview.

How it works

  1. 01

Export the code with a clear border and enough resolution for its final size.

  2. 02

Insert the image, lock its aspect ratio and avoid decorative cropping or effects.

  3. 03

Export the document to PDF and scan both the PDF display and a printed copy.

What to keep in mind

Document tools may compress images or rescale pages during printing. Check the final dimensions and disable inappropriate compression where possible.

Frequently asked questions

Should I paste a link instead of a QR code?
For a digital document, provide a clickable link as well. A QR code is useful when someone reads the document on paper or another screen.
