QRinio

An idea. A connection.

Create a Wi-Fi QR code

A Wi-Fi code stores the network credentials directly in the QR image. Supported phones can offer to join after scanning. Static creation happens in your browser and does not require a QRinio account. Network names and passwords are case-sensitive, including spaces.

QRinio Guest

WPA
example-only

Fictional guest network. This example encodes the displayed name and password.

Place a guest-network code at reception so visitors do not need to type a long password.

Prepare guest access

Set up a separate guest network with the permissions you need in your router. A QR code cannot replace router settings: access to local devices and isolation between guests are controlled there. Use the actual network name and matching security mode; do not weaken encryption just to accommodate a scanner.

Test with a device that has not connected before

A phone with saved credentials can remain connected even if the QR password is wrong. Test with another device or remove its saved connection first. Check that it joins the right network, then check internet access.

A captive portal with an additional login is not bypassed by the code. Hidden networks and WPA3 require suitable device support. If only text appears, try a compatible scanner and compare the fields with the router settings.

How it works

  1. 01

Choose Wi-Fi and copy the exact network name, password and security setting.

  2. 02

Scan the preview with a phone that is not already connected.

  3. 03

Print the code where intended guests can see it and replace it after changing the credentials.

What to keep in mind

Anyone who can read the code can retrieve its credentials. Use a guest network with appropriate router settings. WPA3 and hidden-network behaviour vary by device.

Frequently asked questions

Will changing the router password update the code?
No. A static Wi-Fi code contains the previous credentials. Generate and print a new one whenever the network name or password changes.
Is the password encrypted inside the code?
No. The code makes credentials machine-readable without protecting them from being read. Wi-Fi encryption protects the wireless connection; share the code only with the intended guests.
